[Campaignforrealdemocracy] London Meeting TMRW Thurs 15th Sep - 15O London Working Group

This to quickly confirm second planning meeting *tomorrow* Thurs 15th
September about 15th October global day of action. This will take place at
6.30pm at a venue near Kings Cross (probably ULU with Lucas Arms as back
up). Venue TBC later today.

*Update:* After last week's initial meeting

(1) we are developing a newsletter / 15O invite for UK groups to be revised
/ finalised tomorrow eve (see below the Mubarak statement for copy )

(2) an Oct15th statement (Mubarak statement) has been prepared by some of
us, which has now been endorsed by the Madrid General Assembly and a number
of other groups. International activists at DRY (Democracia Real Ya) and
15M/ Take the Square are now in the process of translating and
distributing it widely including Egypt. Confirmed endorsements as far as I
know so far are DRY International, Spain ATTAC, Italy Uncut, DRY Denmark,
Gaia Foundation with others in the pipeline.

We are hoping Noam Chomsky, Vandana Shiva, Michael Hardt and many others
(who endorsed a similar message in the run up to the G20 earlier this year)
and also that many other mass assemblies, grassroots groups + activists will
put their names to it. And also, that it can be used as a foundation for
further global collaboration. Statement is set out in English and Spanish
below.

(3) Calendar of events is being prepared starting with this Saturday's
picnic event at the Bank of England in solidarity with Occupy Wall Street /
Global Anti-Banks Day ( see FB event Occupy the City Picnic )

(4) Confirmation that we can change the destination / plan for Hyde Park
march ( see, click attend and share 15th October FB Group 'March Hyde Park
to Parliament Square' ) and that Anonymous people who called it will support
our ideas for this.

(5) Peoples Assemblies site has been hacked and is presently out of order
but hope to have up before the invite does the rounds. I do not recommend
that people log onto it as it may be a Trojan. Viewing the page itself
however, *seems* to be risk free. If anyone can help with freeing up the
site from its current defacement, please get in touch asap!

Sorry if I left anything out and hope to see you tomorrow

Love

Mark

*Statement:* "On 15th October 2011, united in our diversity, united for
global
change, we demand global democracy: global governance by the people,
for the people. Inspired by our sisters and brothers in Tunis, Cairo,
Bengazi, Daraa, Palestine-Israel, Spain and Greece, we too call for a
regime change: a global regime change. We will not come to global
institutions, hat in hand, begging for policy change. In the words of
Vandana Shiva, the Indian activist, today we demand replacing the G8
with the whole of humanity - the G 7,000,000,000.

These are our global Mubarak, our global Assad, our global Gaddafi:
the IMF, the WTO, global markets, multinational banks, the G8\G20, the
European Central Bank, the UN Security Council, the World Bank, the
Basel Committee on bank regulations and other undemocratic
international institutions. Like Mubarak and Assad, these institutions
must not be allowed to run people’s lives without their consent.
We are all born equal, rich or poor, woman or man. Every African and
Asian is equal to every European and American. Our global institutions
must reflect this, or be overturned.

Today, like the Mexican Zapatistas, we say "Ya basta! Aqui el pueblo
manda y el gobierno obedece": Enough! Here the people command and
global institutions obey! Like the Spanish Tommalaplaza we say
"Democracia Real Ya": Real global democracy now!"
Today we call the citizens of the world: let us globalize Tahrir
Square! Let us globalise Puerta del Sol!"

*SPANISH TRANSLATION (no está revisado)
*

Todxs nacemos iguales, rico o pobre, hombre o mujer.
