Haia Jonathan,

Thanks for doing this

It looks good.
Looking forward to being able to navigation around the site.

I generallly agree owith what Jody has said.
Especially the bit about it seeming too action heavy.

I don't know how easy it is to portray it but something about education
with maybe a link/ tab to some educational files/ docs would be good.
.
I am also thinking that something re movement building, with a resources
section would be good, too

Have you asked us (if you have sorry, been getting a very full inbox
recently) what we want from this new website or are you working to a
brief (if so, set by whom)

It is looking good. Nice template, well laid out. Very well said about
trusting designer to do their job. It would be nice if we could adopt
this as a ethos on this list.

Still I have some comments in regards to content and hierarchy of
information. The camp has FOUR aims, action being one - but education,
sustainable living, and movement building are the other three. The
content on this homepage is very heavily action focused and I am
concerned that is is not grounded with the other three aims. If I were
new to CC when I visited this site I would want immediately to know WHY?
- and there is no link to this section. It is all action news.

Here are specific issues:

    * A lack of a space for 'resources' - or 'background information'.
Everything is very news / blog oriented. We develop quite a lot a
content and it would be good if we could have an area researchers
      could go to access information.

    * Nothing to point people to an 'about' page. - For total newcomers
they want our mission statement, how we do our thing, etc.

In regards to design:

    * I think you need to be a little careful about putting unnecessary
information on the homepage - which is making a bit more visual
clutter than necessary. Make sure everything on the homepage
especially serves a purpose. Are the dates for the blogs really
necessary there? Could they be smaller or lighter or gone ideally.

Good work.

Jody

    Hi there,

A concept design has been completed for our new website. Your feedback
    is sought!

DEADLINE: 5 PM, Tuesday 4th August

Please bear in mind that we are hoping to launch the new website in 2
weeks (oh god!) Thus, a block to this general concept basically means we
won't be able to do that.

When the website group met to discuss this design brief, we explicitly
agreed that implementing feedback is at the discretion of the designers.
It's important that we trust our designers to do their job :)

But with that aside, please take a look at the designs and let loose
    with your comments!

    Blog page: http://dump.jonathanleighton.com/climate_camp_blog.png

Once the concept is agreed, the designers will work on mockups for other
specific sections (in addition to the blog).

    Thanks!
    Jonx
