Just quickly, a direct point - Murry is talking about pulling the
promoted feed from London indymedia. This means that all articles will
have been pre-moderated, ie. checked and considered of decent quality
before being pulled onto the site. London indymedia works differently
to UK indymedia where slow moderation means that crap stays in the
newswire - on London slow moderation means that good stuff remains
fairly invisible until a moderator comes along and promotes it.
For a bit of background... there had been proposals that some or all
of the cc website would use the same code as indymedia london to make
publishing as easy and efficient as possible. This revolved around the
idea of having a server onsite which people published to and which
would then synchronise with a real online server as best it could
depending on the availability of bandwidth. This would have solved
many of the issues we may experience with having limited bandwidth on
site but it is not going to happen now and so the current proposal is
pretty much the same as last year, ie. pull in and a display a feed
from indymedia.
The quality of the posts on indymedia about the climate camp will
depend completely on who posts them, there is no indymedia editorial
collective generating stories.
