can someone send messages to the text alert system from April 1st, that 
will be in the right place to send a message to it on aug 27?

can we include the sign up for it or a link to it on the front page of 
the website?

(i am drafting text explaining the swoop and the text service on the 
networking list, and this will be with the web group soon)
