Hi all,
We have two new people (hi Adrian and Zion) who have joined this
group/mailing list, so this is an attempt to explain what goes on
here...
So - in short the web group tries to keep the website up-to-date. We
generally do this in two ways:
1. People send in updates to website at climatecamp.org.uk and ask them to
be put in the website. For example, someone from the legal team might
say "could you put this on the legal team page"
2. People within the web group (and related groups) try to actively
consider what stuff is on the website, whether things need changing, or
rewriting, or whether there are things which we don't have on the
website which we ought to. So for example, we currently have the
Edinburgh gathering as one of the "highlights" on the front page. After
the gathering, this will become irrelevant so we'll need to think about
what should go there instead.
There's also the blog, which hasn't recently been overhauled a bit and
we're hoping will become more active. That's now being managed on a
separate list called "cc-socialmedia", which is supposed to co-ordinate
our updates on Facebook, Twitter and the blog. You can subscribe to that
here: https://lists.riseup.net/www/info/cc-socialmedia
We use some "Content Management System" (CMS) software to manage updates
to the website, and we can get you access to this in due course.
Hope that makes sense. Probably the best thing to do is just to hang
around for a bit and you'll get a feel for how things work. If you do
have any immediate thoughts on the website then feel free to send them
and we can discuss.
Let us know if you have any question.
Cheers,
Jon
