Dear Madam/Sir,

DG TREN issued a tender in 2007 on this subject which was contracted to 
BTG of the Netherlands.

The final report is practically completed and the purpose of this 
workshop is to have a discussion with all interested stakeholders on the 
recommendations of the report and for the European Commission to have 
input from the stakeholders on how to move forward from the proposed 
sustainability criteria for biofuels in the RES Framework Directive to 
sustainability criteria for biomass. I attach the agenda of the workshop 
for your convenience.

In case you are interested to participate, please complete the attached 
registration form and return it to the indicated address. Please note 
that the meeting room has place for only 80 persons, thus registrations 
will be confirmed on "first come" basis.

You will receive the final report few days before the Workshop when it 
will be completed.
