[Cja] Nyeleni Europe Forum 2011

Hello all,

Hope this is on the right list...

This is a question and a call for people who have been involved in CJA and
others they might know in movements around Europe.

The European Coordination Via Campesina, along with other groups (ATTAC,
Friends of the Earth Europe, World March of Women and the International
Planning Committee for Food Sovereignty) are organizing a large forum in
Austria next year - the Nyeleni Europe Forum (see call attached)

The idea is for this to be a space which follows on from the Nyeleni Forum
in Mali in 2007, which gave a political framework for Food Sovereignty -
available here <http://www.nyeleni.org/spip.php?article290>.

We want the Forum in Austria (and the movement for Food Sovereignty in
Europe) to be a place where all activists and movements - including of
course Climate Justice Action - feel that they have a place to share
analysis on the current political/economic framework in Europe, and build
joint agendas for the future.

The important thing for us is to include people activiely engaged in topics
related to Food Sovereignty in the *process* towards developing and
preparing the forum, and reaching out to groups and collectives active all
over Europe who are organizing against the current neoliberal system.

We have established 4 working groups - Communications, Methodology, Finance
and Logistics. There is a "steering committee" which is made up of the
organizations mentioned above, as well as representatives of Food
Sovereignty platforms in different countries and some other groups.

I think it would be interesting to have CJA participating in all these
spaces (including the steering committee).

If you need more information or have questions, or want to join one of these
working groups, just let me know.

We will be setting up the website soon and circulating an invitation to an
info list which you can also join in order to be kept in the loop.
