Sorry to drop this on you at such late notice but I am going to have to miss Saturdays session as something has come up that I cant get out of. If I still can I would like to book a place on the next one that comes available.

Thanks Steve.

Dear Mark,

Thank you for your email reminder and confirmation of place.

I unfortunately I will have to pull out of this coming weekend's session. I'll be extremely sorry to miss out on this. But, I admit to having double booked myself that day.

So, please make my place available to any whom wish.

I hope your success with this, will mean that I might have an opportunity to attend the next start date.

Kinds regards,

Justin Gomez.

Hello everyone,

You're receiving this email because either you booked a place on the
Skill-Share event this Saturday, or you're on our project's mailing
list to be kept informed.

To those of you who've just joined the list, welcome. This is how we
keep in touch and organise stuff.

This should be the final announcement about our plans for the day, but
please keep checking your email over the next few days, just incase
there are any changes.

*** Location ***

The event is in the Committee Room at Durham Miners' Hall

Map: http://osm.org/go/evn2v1Ir0-?m=

*** Access ***

The Miners' Hall is just 5 minutes walk from both Durham railway
station and Durham bus station, and is on National Cycle Network
routes 14 and 70. If you have no other option but to drive, there is
parking space at the back of the building; N.B. Redhills Lane has a
one-way section, so do not attempt to drive down the lane from
Crossgate Moor as you'll have to turn back - come up the hill from
Flass Street.

Please let us know if you have any special needs regarding access to
the building.

There will be either chalk marks on the pavement or a flag to show
you're in the right place. Come in the front door with the impressive
portico. One of us should be near the reception desk, but if we're
not, turn right and go to the end of the ground floor corridor.

*** Timings ***

The building will be open from 9AM, if you want to come early and help
set things up. The main event starts at 10AM, so please aim to get
there a bit early as the programme is very full, and we need to start
promptly.

The programme runs until 3PM, and includes a one-hour lunch break.

Details here:
https://network23.org/dfs3/2014/07/11/programme-for-july-26th-final/

*** Ground rules ***

One of the reasons we started this project is that other 'techy'
groups (despite the best of intentions) can seem intimidating for
beginners, partly because so much jargon gets used. If you are talking
about something techy, be prepared to explain anything you say in
beginners' terms; likewise if you hear someone saying something you
don't understand, ask them to explain it; this is an important part of
how we can all learn stuff from each other.

One of the strengths of this group is it's diversity, so please
remember that there will be people here from different social and
cultural backgrounds from yourself, with different abilities and
identities. Please do not to behave or talk in a way that's likely to
cause offence to others.

*** What to bring ***

Bring a packed lunch and any cold drinks you might want. Tea and
coffee will be provided, but we have no sweeteners.

If you're bringing your own computer (not compulsory but a good idea
if you want help to do something with it), make sure that you've
backed up all of your important files, including documents, photos,
downloads, contacts, browser bookmarks, etc. This is important if
you're trying to make changes to the way the computer works, because
even if you don't intend to delete them, mistakes do happen. If any
important data gets lost on the day, nobody will accept responsibility
for this - it's entirely at your own risk. Having said that, there
will be experienced people on hand to help you get things right.

If you don't have access to a computer, speak to Barry, Trev or Mark
at some point during the day and we'll try to sort something out.

Some people might want to go to a local pub afterwards, so bring a bit
of beer money if that's your kind of thing.

Also, bring ideas about how you'd like to see this group develop, and
what kind of things we should do in future.

*** Questions? ***

If anything is unclear, or you need help with something before
Saturday, please reply to this email and someone on the mailing list
should be able to help you.

Cheers,
Mark
