[dfs3] learning to program the DIY way

Hi Mark,

I'll have a look and see if it appears to be a useful language.  I must say
that the "C" language appear more valuable to me.  If it seems worth
working on, I'll see if I can catch up!  I had already pulled the Python
stuff down from the Ubuntu Software Centre and have thought about having a
poke around to see what it can do, without time to do any more.
