Hi folks - bit late, but hey....
here's an updated report on the dayschool after our visit/chats recently.
Hope it encompasses the gist correctly of where we are. I'll get 20+
copies done for the meet. If you have any problems/corrections...it'll be
tricky to sort but you can try by belling me on the mobby early in the
day. Or raise it at the meeting. OK.

1. Venue: Malcolm X Centre, Lower Ashley Rd/City Rd, St Pauls. Booked from
10am to 6pm.
2. Reminder - Outline programme for the day;

3. ACTION POINTS FOR THIS MEETING:
A. Venue costs at present running at ₤252 max for use of main
hall, balcony, side room, kitchen & small hall for kids space. Plus
₤50 damage deposit. We are applying for a reduction on the basis it
is a community event. Ok?
B. Childcare as well as the xtra space above, we need at least one
formal childcare worker (₤8ph x 7 hrs), plus volunteers to help out,
plus a co-ordinator (email contact) for people to advise nos of kids to.
C. Publicity some draft posters etc ideas should be available tonite.
Email publicity to go out soon. Need a budget to pay for posters/flyers.
How much? And then we need to get it out!
D. Catering see list requesting helpers. We will charge (cheaply) for
drinks, cake, snacks, main meal. We will need to provide
pans/plates/cups/forks etc. Ideally any profit would go to offset costs of
venue hire. Is the group / Kebele caterers happy with this?
E. Opening session a chairperson, a Bristol person to speak on Dissent
locally & nationally; a speaker on anti-capitalism; a Bristol Dissenter to
outline day. Then sort any queries.
Closing session 2 facilitators for open session for ideas, callouts,
feedback etc.
F. Speakers/facilitators - needed for opening & closing sessions, who
are comfortable in front of upto 150 people. Any applicants whod like to
be considered for the job, especially women?
G. Workshops see NEW PROPOSAL above. We have space for this. We can have
1 workshop in side room; 1 on balcony; and 2 in main hall.
H. Stalls 1 in foyer for programmes/donations/elist/free Dissent info.
Other stalls inside general free campaign info; Kebele books etc;
other groups? Well also need banners for the venue.
