Resume - Info sub-group meet 1 March
Hi, heres a very brief resume of this meeting (sorry it is late!). It was
not a very productive meeting, and we have much to sort at our next meet
on 15 March (6pm @ Kebele). Can the co-ordinating crew please ensure they
can make it for 6pm. Ill try to circulate a list of stuff I think we need
to sort at that meet in a day or two. Cheers
Resume:
1. Factsheets
texts for climate change, sustainable development, WTO/IMF/WB, and
Intro to G8, have been put on list/passed to Paul for dtp. Paul to update
on progress.
- Ollie to repost his final draft of PFIetc to list for proofing/editing
by Tim/Ange.
- Tim to finish draft of Africa debt/poverty and circulate.
2. 9 April printed publicity
- no progress so far. Agreed generally wed use the 50 quid budget on
photocopying posters/flyers (unless we come up with really cheap print
options).
- need to involve actively rest of group in getting posters/flyers out as
widely as possible. To include some door to door leafleting around the
venue.
- we came up with a list of 6 to 8 slogans for A4/A3 posters and agreed
in principle content of posters. Paul to do a few drafts on Mon 7 March
and post on a website for all to see get comments back to him asap.
- aim to have posters done, dusted & copied up by 15 March ready for distro.
- flyer, no progress. Need to come up with draft text asap, agree it. Lay
it out & get copying. 2 draft suggestions have been posted to list.
3. email/other publicity
- Tim had already posted on list copy of PR sent to BSTW for their
newsletter. To have another look at that and get circulating it to lists &
media. (Ill recirculate it tomorrow ok).
4. Kids-space
- Tom to clarify with Nathalie/Tasha their role as co-ordinators
(organisers) of it, and if a registered childminding friend (Lisa?) of
Nathalies will do it for free? Also to use the
Bristol_g8workshops at riseup.net as an address people can advise they are
brining kids to, to be passed to N & T.
5. Food
- Paul to check Lizzie/Kebele caterers ok with facilities at MX re
cooking/warming up.
- also need confirmation from them that money made from catering is to
be used to cross-fund the days event. Pretty important!!
