Nice one Space Bunny. I'd say go ahead and set up both webspace and
the domain name as long as it can be pointed elsewhere if needs be in
the future.

Having a well organised wiki system I think would be very useful for
thing like meetings and suggested texts for the main site etc.

Once we have the domain name confirmed it can also go out on any
publicity we do too e.g. the Newsletter, flyers for next meet etc.
