Hi! There were a few posts to the Dissent! list today
asking for more participation in the web site and for
comments on the content and design. So... Here?s a few
comments from me. First of all: The new design looks
excellent!!!!! Its much, much, much easier to
navigate, find info etc... and much easier on the eye
(although the logo in the top left hand corner of the
home page and the graphics still look a little
corporate). All in all it looks wicked, though! Here
are a few minor comments on how it could be made a bit
easier to navigate/ show the relevent info. It could
well be that you wanted to make some of these
alterations anyway but didn?t get around to it yet.

Also, I thought I?d let you know that we?ve jsut
printed 2000 stickers advertising the website to be
distribted to European groups at the PGA Gathering in
Belgrade, and elsewhere, so hopefully there?ll be a
lot of interest in the site from outside of Britain
soon.

1) On the page: ?Who We Are?
It says follow the link to the PGA website. Maybe
would be good to put a direct link in there to the pga
site (www.agp.org) even though it is linked elsewhere
on the site. Also, in the sub-section starting with
the question ?Can I get Involved?? the answer is a
little vague. How about replacing it with something
like,

?There are around 15 Dissent! Network affiliated local
groups and Info Points around the country (PUT IN A
LINK HERE TO LIST OF INFO POINTS). If there is a group
near you, get in touch and get involved. If there?s
not one in your area: set one up! If there?s a
specific aspect of the mobilisation that you would
like to get involved with, there may already be a
Working Group working on it (PUT IN LINK HERE TO LIST
OF WORKING GROUPS). If not: set one up and let others
know about it and see if they want to get involved.
Let people know by either mailing local groups,
posting information to the Dissent! email list (LINK
TO LIST SUBSCRIBING INFO) or the enrager.net web forum
(LINK TO ENRAGER.NET G8 FORUM) or by coming to the
next bi-monthly Dissent! Network Gathering (LINK TO
INFO ABOUT THE DISSENT NETWORK GATHERING)

2) In the ?The News? section it is a bit unclear what
the difference between ?News? and ?Info? is. Maybe
they can be merged until there is a real difference
between the two. i.e.: News could be for action
reports etc...

3) In the Alternative Media list in the Web Links
section, maybe add the following for a start:

www.schnews.org.uk
SchNEWS is a news sheet which has been produced weekly
in Brighton for almost 10 years, bringing news from
the frontlines of the global resistance.

http://www.eco-action.org/dod/
Do or Die: Voices from the Ecological Resistance is an
occasional journal crammed with reports and analysis
from the world-wide ecological frontlines. These are
not voices of outsiders, jouranlists or academics, but
of those involved in the struggles themselves.

www.ainfos.ca
A-Infos is an international, multi-lingual, web based,
anarchist news service.

www.enrager.net
enrager.net is a growing resource of information. It
aims to provide tools to facilitate communication and
networking around Britain's libertarian and
anti-capitalist movement.

http://www.geocities.com/aufheben2/
Aufheben is an annual journal produced since 1992 by a
group of people who had been involved in the movement
against the 1991 Gulf War and wanted to develop their
theoretical understanding of capital and class
struggle, to be able to participate in movements more
effectively.

4) On the ?International Call Out? it would be good to
put in the following web links: Following the mention
of PGA link www.agp.org
Following the mention at the end of the text of the
PGA Conference in Belgrade link
http://www.pgaconference.org/
Following the mention of the ESF link www.esf2004.net
Following the mention of the bi-monthly gatherings add
g8gathering at yahoo.co.uk

5) In the ?Contact Us? section, the postal address was
for the Gathering before last in Brighton and is no
longer relevent, but the email address is still
correct. It might also be worth putting on this page
that the best way to get involved would be to contact
your local group, with a link to the list of Info
Points

6) It might be worth re-naming the link Info Points
?Info Point and Local Groups?, it is probably a bit
more accurate.

7) Not sure if you?ve got the technical expertise (I
have absolutely NONE), or how difficult this is, but
it?d be good to have one of those link boxes to the
Dissent! website that people can take from the website
and put on their?s.
