Dear friend,

1. Education Not for Sale's conference/gathering is this Sunday, 25
October, at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London,
11am-6pm.
We will be discussing the fight against fees and cuts, including the
upcoming international week of student action; the problems with NUS
and whether there is an alternative; liberation politics; student
solidarity with workers in struggle including the postal strike; and
organising the ENS network for the coming year.
For the agenda see

For the agenda and the Facebook event see

Please come along or send a representative from your union or campaigning group.

2. ENS is building solidarity with the postal workers' strike. We
think this is particularly important as Royal Mail will be attempting
to recruit thousands of students as scab labour.
For an explanation of why student unions and student activists should
support the strike, including a statement you can sign and a list of
things you can do, see

For the "Students support the postal workers" Facebook group, see

Lastly, an ENS leaflet you can use among students is attached.

3. Why not invite an ENS speaker to your union or campaigning group to
discuss anti-cuts campaigning, the post strike or anything else
connected to building a radical, campaigning student movement? Get in
touch.

reports from NUS Trustee Board member Daniel Randall on how the NUS
leadership is destroying our national union
