[FlyingBrickAnnouncements] Meeting This Thursday! 6:30pm

Hey y'all, just a reminder that the volunteer meeting is this Thursday at
6:30! Please try and make it, there are some important agenda items up for
discussion. So far, the agenda is this:

- *Flying Brick Field Trips!* Possible destinations: Museum of the American
Indian in DC, RACE exhibit in DC, Pocahontas Island in Petersburg, various
museums in Richmond, Harpers Ferry, WV.....suggestions needed!
(proposal/bottomline by Greg and Nathan)

- *Flying Brick Bylaws and Mission Statement *- I'm finally getting moving
on this, but I'd really like some help. I will give everyone a copy of what
I have so far at the meeting, as well as send a copy to the listserv after
the meeting. I will propose that they not get voted on until a month from
now at the least, and we can discuss how people who can't actually make the
meeting can give input. I will definitely push for phone conversations as
well as emails. (Bottomliner - Nathan, someone else too please!)

 - *Flying Brick Library Cards *- Proposal to use business cards from
VistaPrint as library cards. This would not eliminate accountability forms,
but be a fun and easy way to keep track of who has signed them.

- *Changing of Check-out Log Lay-out *- Proposal to start keeping track of
books being checked out by the name of the person. This would be easier to
keep track of how many books an individual has checked out, and make it
easier to make calls on late books. This could be combined with
accountability forms for easier access and to save paper.

- *Discussion and Proposal to Change Meeting Schedule - *This could be voted
on next month, but I wanted to discuss either changing meetings back to
scheduling by phone call, which would include asking people if they still
would like to be involved in decision making, OR having weekly meetings that
would require less regular attendance, with important agenda items being
proposed a month in advance. Possibly having special meetings just to vote
on a certain proposal.

I hope this doesn't look like too much....I hope people can make this
meeting, I'm looking forward to good discussions!
