Mountain Justice Friends and ACE,
I am starting to invite speakers and workshop leaders for the 2012
Whippoorwill Festival - Skills for Earth-Friendly Living near Berea KY,
Thursday-Sunday July 12-15.
I am looking for workshop ideas and speakers, so if you are interested in
leading a workshop or a discussion group, please email me back. If you can
recommend a really good workshop leader that you have heard lately, Id
appreciate any leads.
Im looking for someone to lead an Anarchy discussion group.
Also for workshops about Feminism, Natural Childbirth, Home Schooling,
Quantum Physics, Making Moonshine, and Atl-Atl I dont have workshop leaders
yet, so if you know someone please let me know. Any workshops related to
Appalachian culture/history/music or traditional ways would be perfect.
More about the Whippoorwill Festival:
This is a family-friendly event with workshops all day, then speakers and
old-time/Appalachian music in the evening. Last year we had workshops on
Composting Toilets, Raising Backyard Chickens, Making Sandals from Car
Tires, Rocket Stoves, How to Survive Without a Salary, Hide Tanning, Forest
Gardening, Knitting and Fabric Dyeing, Making Mead, Making Hot Sauces,
Fermenting Kim Che, Forest Ecology, Hat Felting, Bicycle Touring, Worm
Composting, Flatfoot Dancing, Wild/edible Mushrooms, Roots and Non-Timber
Forest Products, etc.
Last years website:
http://homegrownhideaways.org/Whippoorwill.aspx
Workshop leaders get free admission. Last year we had all meals cooked
and provided by Scott and Food Not Bombs volunteers and hope to again this
year.
It was really fun event last year and so if you want to be a part of this
please let me know.
Volunteers are needed to make this event run smoothly!
Thanks.
