we are a group of people, based in Manchester and Leeds, who hung out
together during the events surrounding the 2005 Gleneagles G8 Summit

We are putting together a collection of reflections by people who also
protested against the G8.

That week of working, living and laughing together reminded us that our
desires and dreams can come true, and we're confident many others had
similar experiences. We want all these voices to be heard.

We intend to publish reflections in three formats.

1. A website. Everything we receive we'll upload here.

2. A 'fast and dirty' book/let which we want to be able to distribute
as quickly as possible. We want it to be ready for summer festivals
such as the big green (beginning of August). We envisage this booklet
containing a selection of shorter stories, as well as photographs and
other images, from individuals and groups: experiences before and
throughout the G8 and also ideas for the future. Possible topics
include:

fundraising and awareness raising events in local areas
the rural convergence
the edinburgh convergence
the glasgow convergence
faslane
carnival of full enjoyment
wednesday: A9, M9, edinburgh, glasgow, covert blockades
black block actions
gleneagles
g8 bike ride
cre8 summit
clown army
kids picnic
what next

Max length of contributions is 500 words: keep 'em snappy. Diary-type
entries are fine, make it accessible, make it inspiring!

Deadline for contributions is Friday 22 July. (Remember, we want to
get this out for the Big Green, do it whilst your feelings are still
fresh in our minds!). Please email your short stories for this issue
to g8.reflections at gmail.com

3. A second book or magazine (similar to Days of Dissent or On Fire:
The Battle of Genoa and the Anti-Capitalist Movement). This will also
contain longer, more reflective pieces. We're interested in how
Glenagles (counter-)summit relates to previous summit-mobilisations
(and other struggles in general), what it means/meant for our
'movement of movements', lessons for the future and so on.

This second book/magazine will be published in time for the London
Anarchist Bookfair in October. Deadline for contributions is 10th
September.
Please e-mail contributions to g8.reflections at gmail.com

Please get thinking, get writing!

please distribute this email to anyone you think would be interested in
writing.
