Sheffield Against G8 meeting 8th June

 

  a.. Contact point: telephone number available for info on convergence centre and accommodation from Wednesday 15th.
  b.. Wednesday insurgents breakfast at convergence centre and people to meet those who go to the plaza with breakfast and move it over to New Roots.
  c.. Clarification of timeline. Please bring musical instruments to 'Rice for Dinner'.
  d.. Leaflets; 500 extended timelines and 3000 shorter ones. Maybe focus the leaflets on people the specific issues and there effects on Sheffield people. Mike offers to draft a specific info leaflet.
  e.. Workshops updated
  f.. Legal observers need to contact the convergence centre and wear bright yellow bibs. Check the legal defence monitoring website. Police can do what they want and our best line of defence id media presence. Legal workshops will be done at peace in the park. Questions raised for this workshop. Mike might be able to get Liberty legal observers for the weds demo. Legal team to meet on Saturday. 
  g.. Everyone must act as legal observers and this sort of message should be printed on the bust cards.
  h.. Put a legal page on the web.
  i.. Quaker meeting house is open for worship on Wednesday evening opposite Cutlers Hall.
  j.. We need as many cameras as possible to film the police.
  k.. Legal questions are assembled for workshop at pip.

  m.. Plans for banners - more banner making on Thursday at New Roots and on Monday as usual

Convergence centre - equipment needed - toasters, kettles (Mozaz's urn from Access Space), 60 chairs (Lesley to ask Broomspring Centre; Fabian to ask Dave re: Plaza & St Catherines Church Hall; Rocky to ask Sheff Community Recycling & to get van), video projector, washing up liquid etc (Lesley & Ruth to liase), spare bedding (Mozaz offered some quilts & sleeping bags)
  r.. Equipment already available - 30 mattresses coming from Atkinsons
  s.. Films and open mike - need a little PA Fabian reckons this can be sorted out. - we can use a mike out of the studio
  t.. Party at convergence space  Friday night - situation now seems a bit uncertain about who's going to organise it.  Ruth will clarify and feed back.
  u.. Decorate the entrance - can look at this on Monday
  v.. Web cam - live streaming from the building. Mozaz will investigate and try and organise this.  It will only operate if the police are filming people coming in.
  w.. Clowns - Circa - training workshops Saturday Sunday - show at peace in the park - hoping that this will strengthen local clowning in Sheffield.  Seed the idea for a local action group
  x.. Peace in the Park - workshop space / speakeasy/café - this group will have a stall  for information - will need people to staff stall.  Does anyone want to lead discussions - whilst we have a workshop schedule we also need ideas from people for other items.  Can people from this group be in there to throw in ideas
  y.. Workshop on issues around G8 with Sheffield focus. - what people want to do
  z.. People needed on stall all through day - 1pm general tactics during G8 in /Sheffield discussion  2pm - legal briefing including Q&A 3pm Are they good or bad?  3pm Subvertising workshop - consensus and blockading workshops - no times yet.
