MEETING OF G8 JUSTICE AND HOME AFFAIRS MINISTERS
SHEFFIELD, UK, 15-17 JUNE 2005


As part of the UK’s presidency of the G8, the Justice and Home Affairs 
Ministers of the G8 countries (Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, 
Russia, USA and UK) are due to meet in Sheffield, 15 - 17 June 2005.
The meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss joint work to tackle 
transnational organised crime and international terrorism.
The provisional timetable for the event is as follows:

Wednesday 15 June - arrival
Media centre open during the afternoon and accreditation facilities 
available. Pooled photo opportunity with Ministers early evening. 
Evening welcome event for media hosted by Sheffield City Council.

Thursday 16 June
Pooled photo opportunity at opening of the meeting. Ministers in G8 
meeting all day. Facilities available at venue for ministerial 
interviews and briefings during breaks by prior arrangement.

Friday 17 June
Pooled photo opportunity at start of second day of the meeting. G8 
meeting concludes at around midday with a closing Ministerial press 
conference on camera.

We are issuing this operation note at the present time because, for 
security reasons, all media personnel wishing to attend this event, 
MUST accredit in advance at www.g8sheffieldmedia.co.uk. The website 
includes information on accommodation. The closing date for 
accreditation is Thursday 26 May. Late requests cannot be accepted. 
Only accredited media will be permitted access to the event and 
accreditation is not transferable.

The meeting will be held at the Sheffield Marriott Hotel, with limited 
media work facilities available at a separate city centre location. 
Full details on media access, facilities and practical arrangements 
will be sent via email to accredited media closer to the date of the
