WHY JOIN THIS PROJECT?

As a collective we want to promote independence of expression. We’ve
noticed that a lot of groups using blogger or wordpress.com are starting
to question using such large scale services, especially when these
services seem to be happy to hand out the details of users to 3rd

privacy agreement or want to promote independent expression, you can

HOW DO I GET A SITE?

Go visit the Sign-Up Page – https://network23.org/sign-up/.
Fill in the form with your details, giving as much information as you
can, and accept the terms and conditions:
https://network23.org/terms-conditions/.  We will then set you up with a
WordPress site on the web address (aka URL)
https://network23.org/yoursite – so please let us know of the address
that you want for your site.

If you have any problems using the Sign-Up form, drop us aline at our
administration mailing list – aktivix-requests [at] lists [dot] aktivix
[dot] org - Please email us from a secure email if you can.

WHAT WILL MY SITE DO?

There are a limited number of plugins that are installed which give your
site the following functionality.

    * Install different themes and change the look of your site
    * Uploading short audio reports
    * Photo Blogging
    * An aggregator to bring different feeds together
    * Embedding Video and longer audio bits from other sites

On the wish list.

    * Events Calendar
    * Cross posting to Twitter and Status.net

WHAT WILL MY SITE NOT DO?

No uploading video or large audio files (more than 5M) directly to the
site – we recommend the following services for this

    * London, Nottingham &  Northern Indymedia
    * EngageMedia (includes cultural / music vids)
    * Archive.org (audio and video)

PRIVACY POLICY

We have a policy of no unnecessary data retention. However your email
address is stored on the server to send you password resets and to
contact you. If you can be traced by your email address then this data
may end up in the wrong hands if the server were to be seized. Be aware
of this. We suggest that you apply from a secure email address if you can.
