Are you active in grassroots, social justice, anti-capitalist, labour or
environmental movement(s) for social and ecological change? Or are you part
of a group that supports these movements?
*Then this gathering is for you!*

this gathering about?

The aim of the gathering is for existing support groups to network and
skillshare with each other, as well as coming up with ways to improve how
we can work together. To reflect this aims, the structure of the weekend
will look like this:
Friday 5th, 2:30 – 6pm

Support groups will discuss how they coordinate with each other. There are
many individuals, groups and networks offering fantastic grass roots
training but *how can we come together to improve what already
exists?*Some of the ideas discussed so far have been;

   - *working together to help publicise and networking of existing
   training and support*
   - *developing strategies to increase the effectiveness of what we do*
   - *sharing contacts and resources*

Groups already signed up offer support in legal, tech, medic, squatting &
eviction resistance, facilitation & consensus.

Saturday 6th, 10:30am – 5:30pm

Saturday is made up of both practical and strategic sessions. There will be
sessions to continue to discuss big questions about our role as a network
of movement support groups, the most useful way for us to work together,
and some thinking about our role in the current political climate.

The day will also contain some workshops and skill shares from
participating groups. These hands-on sessions are intended to facilitate
sharing of training techniques and knowledge relevant to our movement
support groups. *Full details of the workshops will be finalised later* but
may include: training for trainers, online organising and security,
sourcing kit anonymously and media activism.
Sunday 7th

The Tory party conference will be running from Sunday 7th October to
Wednesday 10th October. This will be a opportunity for those who have done
trainings/workshops on Saturday to try out their new skills (e.g. legal
observing). While we won’t be facilitating any meetings or workshops on
this day, folk are welcome to use the space for preparation

*Venue:* The Edge, a converted warehouse 15 minutes from the centre of
Birmingham

*Crash space* will likely be available Friday and Saturday nights.
