Hi all,

It's Ruth from Open Rights Group here.

There's been a lot of discussion on this list recently about privacy and
security, for us as campaigners, and for our supporters.
I'd therefore like to invite you all to a very relevant event.

You may have heard of the 'Day We Fight Back'. It's a co-ordinated day
of action against mass surveillance, taking place on February 11th with
groups from around the world taking part. On this date, we in the UK
will be  launching the 'Stop Spying on Us' campaign, along with a
coalition of civil liberties groups: Liberty, Article 19, English PEN,
Privacy International & Big Brother Watch.

ORG are joint-hosting a Crypto Party on this date at the Free Word
Centre in Farringdon in the evening. They'll be introductory training on
using encryption for your emails, secure browsing, and talks about the
situation for mass surveillance is and the changes we want to see. It's
a good chance to keep all these discussions going and ask lots of
questions. :)
