[This message is going to everyone who's registered and to the
hacktionlab list, so you may get two copies]

Hi everyone,

Thanks for registering for this year's BarnCamp rural DIY skill-sharing
event. This message is to remind you of a few details before you come.
The list of proposals for workshops etc. is looking awesome, but
remember that the timetable is flexible so you can still offer to lead
(or collaborate on) a session when you turn up.

The forward crew are packing and loading today, and we'll be at the farm
from tomorrow afternoon. Remember when you arrive to come and say "hi"
at the welcome desk, so we all know who's on site. This is important
because it's a DIY event and we need to make sure that everyone has an
opportunity to link in with work and play that's already going on, and
to make sure the right amount of food gets cooked. You will need to know
either your six-digit registration code or the email address you signed
up with (preferably both).

If you haven't paid yet, remember to bring £40+ cash with you. You'll
probably also want some change to spend at the bar. Do not ask for
credit as a prolonged discussion of the nature of debt under late
capitalism may offend.

Our main contact number this year is 01600 888298 - active from Thursday
morning to Sunday evening.

Top tips for first-timers and people who don't go camping much
==============================================================

  - There will be places on your journey and on the farm where you can't
get a mobile phone signal, let alone a data connection, so it's
essential to print off or write down your travel instructions and our
contact details before you leave home:

  - Bring full waterproof gear and strong shoes, even if the weather
forecast says it'll be sunny

  - Bring some spare warm clothes as it gets cold at night. None of our
structures are insulated or heated.

  - Bring any medicinal stuff you may need, even if you don't use it
regularly e.g. stuff for allergies, insect repellent, sun block

  - Bring a small waterproof bag so you can get your electronics from
your tent to the barn if it's rainy

Cheers folks, see you there!
