It's just like twitter! but with different groups of people shouting at
each other, and sometimes it breaks so that not everyone can shout at
each other at the same time.

Gagron built it ontop of the OStatus protocol initially, so it
interoperates with GNUSocial. ( GNUSocial was what statusnet evolved
into ).
