Q: which collective is ready?

DEFINITION: To be ready, the collective needs a customised regional topic
page, and some trained admin people. Sheffield, Oxford, London, Cambridge,
Leeds have templates (= regional topic pages).

Q: What's the situation in lancester, scotland, manchester?

PROPOSAL: Bristol: we put a link to their site from the regional topic box,
and ask on their list if that's ok.

Q: Which open publishing (OP) system do we implement on the uk startpage?
For options, reasons and definitions, go to <email>
PROPOSAL from Ox, Shef, Lon: To implement a "moderation afterwards" model,
check it out, then evaluate it at the proposed network meeting in July.
Maybe just a mir meeting. Change the OP if necessary.

Q: Do we want an extra "regional page" for features from "other regions"?
OPTIONS:
1) Many "other regions" will be covered by an imc nearby.
2) Features from or about "other regions" are published on the uk startpage
3) Features from or about "other regions" are published on an extra page
for "other regions".

Q: What do we need to do for the launch?
PROPOSAL
Ionnek:
- add a line to the old active publish page, contact page, maybe mission
statement, to include link to test page.
- keep the testpage alive, to experiment and improve while we already use
the new page.
- add a link from the new startpage to a feature on the issue-topic page
"indymedia", to ask people for comments about the new site (imc portland
has this).

Q: How do we manage the features on the uk startpage?
INFO: Present setup:
Article type "Feature": tick no regional topic - feature goes ONLY to UK
startpage. tick one or several regional topics - feature goes to UK
startpage plus to the ticked regional pages.
Article type "Regionalfeature": tick one or several regional topics -
feature goes ONLY to regional pages, NOT to the UK startpage.
To promote an item with article type "Regionalfeature" to the uk startpage,
change the articletype to "Feature".
OPTIONS:
1) every regional imc collective is responsible and in charge of the
features on its page.
2) every regional feature goes by default to the UK startpage (we drop the
articletype regionalfeature)
3) decisions about the features on the startpage are made on the imc-uk
features list, like now, including 24 hours rule. To promote a feature to
the uk startpage, it has to be proposed to the imc uk features list.
Question: do we want the option to propose features that go only to the uk
startpage, not on any regional page?

OPINIONS:
London meeting prefers to decide about uk startpage features on the imc uk
features list, i.e. not every regional feature goes automatically to the
startpage.
