hey comrade paganarchists,

i'm setting up a new moon group called "SacredMoon" to meet up and celebrate full moons and new moons with simple ritual, democratically invoking a different rotating deity by a different group member each moonth, to be started off by the Indian triple-goddess "Mookambika" http://itly.blogspot.com/2005/01/kollur-mookambika.html. All group members therefore kinda get to celebrate their favorite god/dess with the total energy of the group, followed by a hearty booze up at a local tavern in time-honoured pagan tradition.

i already have quite a few pagans interested so it looks like its gonna happen...i'm hoping we can do a basic outdoor ritual for the next full moon on 19 August http://www.moon-phases.net/calendar/index.php?month=8&year=2005 somewhere in north London like Hampstead Heath..any suggestions?

let me know if u r interested...

It's good to be back in the world of thinking bipeds after babysitting two toddlers for 3 weeks. Was suffering from email deprivation too. Re dates: Whatever day of the week we choose, it won't work every time for all of us. IMHO, we shud set the dates once and for all, publicize them and it will start to sink into people's minds that twice a month, on those days, at that venue, there is a LAF event. Persistence pays.

The alternative to a day in the week, as discussed before, is to set dates in the month and include them in the title of the event, such as "the 7/20 LAF debates", the 7 th and 20th falling on different days every month. It'll satisfy those who can never make it on a certain days and it's easy to memorize. The prob is to find a venue that's open 7/7.

Personally I'm happy with any of these solutions. The worse strategy, I wud think, if the objective is to build up an audience, is to continue the uncertainty as to dates and venue.

See you (or most of you) this afternoon (very much looking forward to Justin's talk)

Christian

some people prefer fridays and thats not possible at FP
A popular vote on this list is prolematic as most members dont attend meetings, besides we should be able to cater for everyone who is likely to come to at least some meetings

oh that's a pity! Can't we keep our venue at freedom press?

Comrades
If people are keen to go back to conway hall on a Friday can I suggest a Friday in Sep
to start with .

The choice l is between 2nd, 9th 16th 23rd & 30th

which of theses would suit people?

I will check to see that the Hall will be open (Just in case its only usually in Aug that they sometimes shut early)

Now for a really good speaker to kick off our return

Has any one got any ideas? We need some one with broad appeal

My shout is to ask Ron Heisler to give us another talk

He is flexible , approachable and above all knowledgeable

Ron is I think a Marxist but with a stomg knowledge and some sympathy for anarchism

he would attract a good crowd esp if it was publicised some time in advance

Has any body any alternative suggestions, I am only saying we should ask Ron again , it does

not have to be Sep or even this year, but if we can agree on dates for say sep and oct at CH

and everyone agrees I could talk to Ron if Justin as pro co ordinator does not mind

(He might not be able to make the date we have in mind of course but we ought to have more

than one option up our sleeve

What do people think ?
