[LAF] Russian antifascist prisoners support demonstration (report)

As you may be aware on 2009May24 there was a demonstration in London outside of
the embassy of Russian Federation in support with Aleksey "Shkobar" Olesinov and
other antifascist and anti-nazi prisoners in that country.

The demo started shortly after noon, and within 15 minutes the police was asking
us to move away from the residence of the ambassadors (even though they claimed
that Russian embassy did not complain about us being there). This was such a
horrible thing, because we did move to the main road where the the consulate
offices were, and there were many more people who could see us there.

There were not that many people who have showed up for the demo, and after a
couple of hours of leafleting the passers-by and talking to those who were
interested (there even was one English man who was "proud of traditions" and
saddened by the fact that England is not what is was before, who tried to prove
to us that Putin was good for Russia because he "kept small groups under
control") we called it the day.

In retrospect, the Russian embassy might not have been the best place to protest
in this manner. We did raise some people's awareness of what is going on, but
perhaps the Gazprom's subsidiaries might be better targets, after all this is
one of the major way that the Russia is pressuring the West to accept its
dictatorship at this time, though control of gas supply. (But of course if there
are enough interested people, doing both is the best approach).
