[LAF] The Last Post: Why I am No Longer An Anarchist

This will be my last post  to this list after which I will remove myself so if you want to contact me by email you will
have to do so off list, 
This post is also being sent to some NON MEMBERS of the LAF list
 
I will remove myself once this is sent
I  am willing to post LAF events on the LAF page of my website for the time being (as it comes up in a google search)  but you must send me an email with FULL  details
Title/speaker, date time place, in good time, but I wont be on the list nor will I attend
 
Why I am No  Longer   An Anarchist
 
I would call myself a libertarian - socialist, supporting I suppose in practice a sort of limited state socialism 
I am NOT  defending a parliamentary position as such however , I support a moneyless  stateless world  with free access like anarchists in the long run (a few hundred million years should do it) but my position  is herectical
from an anarchist perspective because meanwhile I live in the real world and support practical action to improve it
 
 
I  support anti-hate speech laws beacause there is no other way to stop the consequences of hate speech
 
You start with a mildly racist joke on Monday  and end up with the holocaust   on Friday that is a logical progression it certainly what happened in Europe before the second world war

I support the laws that operate in most of Europe and elsewhere against holocaust denial, I dont see what case there is against them unless you agree with the holocaust
They amount to a libel against the victims, the survivors and families of the survivors and all thoses who have written about it and who fought against it  they are being accused of telling lies, 
 
stamping on such people as David Irving
is no offence against liberty compared to what is going on elsewhere--  Chomsky has never supported free speech for people in Cuba I notice on the contary he has visited the country as a guest of the regime so its double standards
for him to criticise  laws made by elected goverments
 
I support the Race Relations law and other anti discrimanation laws, the logic of the anarchist position
is to oppose them  and hope people will change,  the fact is they wont and in any case I never heard of any anarchists who were trying to get them to
 
Fact :  In the 1960s you could walk around Britain and see signs   "Room to let  , NO Blacks, No Dogs"  and it was the law alone that put a stop to that because most people thought it was all right
 
II took public opinion a long time to catch up and those
signs would still be displayed today with out the law
The same is true of sex   anti Gay and disability discrimanation, and 
domestic violence and there are many other examples where
the use of the law made things better. 
 
The fact is that attitudes have changed beacause a new generation grew up with the law and now find such discrimination socially as well as iegally  unacceptable.
 
Anarchist however prefer to organise riots, get themselves arrested for cudos, or simply indulge in lifestyle anarchism
then there are the Green anarchists who want to go back to the dark ages and dont mind using violence against anyone who disagrees  and anarcho-capitalist who want 
the right to own hand held nuclear weapons and enforce slavery on their own property
 
You also have the anarchist who support the crackpot
religious cult responsible for events at WACO putting the blame instead on the FBI who had to intervene to stop Child
abuse one of the main features of the cult sometime you have to take the side of the state, anarchist have no answer
to the Baby P senario  and are happy to support any crackpot who says they are against the state
 
This Just about sums up my position
