[matilda] proposal for Monday meeting re: email list & conflict resolution

Hey everyone,

I spent two days following all the emails on this list and getting the
impression that Matilda seemed to be turning into Bosnia circa 1993.
Then I came down and spent the afternoon around the building and
realised that was bollocks. (This made me much more sympathetic to
Kathleen's email the other week... - Kathleen, if you're still reading
the list, sorry I was so sharp with you.)

So...

I propose that the discussion list should not be used for conflict resolution.

How exactly this works, we should discuss on Monday. One possibility
might be that if a point of conflict emerges, anyone can post and say
"this is a conflict that needs to be resolved face to face", at which
point the discussion on the list is closed. Obviously, given the way
the list works, that relies on people taking responsibility for their
own behaviour - there's no one to police it. Maybe this wouldn't work
- but it might lead to a bit more restraint...?
