The idea is to help speed things up. Say you have an idea for an event
while sitting at home. If the wiki was always up to date you could
simply check it out and instantly see what dates are available. You
could choose a date and write your event in (as proposed not
confirmed). Someone else with an idea for another event an hour or two
would have a better idea even than the black book.

This also makes the info far more accessible. At the moment one can
only check out the black book when in Matilda, and then only if
someone else is not reading it. Most of us only visit Matilda once or
twice a week yet have access to the internet a lot more often.

Speedier communications tend to speed things up not slow them down.
