[matilda] C90 gig space etc

Allo,

A few things: first, to start on a positive note...

Tom Sch (the chap responsible for Tuesday Club n Urban Gorilla, also my
housemate) went to the gig, and said it was the best thing he's been to in a
very long time. He generally has a pretty nuanced and critical take on nights,
and its rare to hear him be so directly positive about an evening's work.

So - to C90 and Gav: if this is anything to go by, a fantastic night - damn fine

work! (C90 are also playing at Plug - used to be Zero - next week.)

Anyway...

Quoting gavin at cyber-rights.net:

I think (hope?) the bad feeling here is mainly down to lack of communication,
and a lack of support for Gavin. These kinds of sins of omission can be as
evil as commission. That's poo.

We had agreed, if I remember, to make sure we had a named list of people for
nights who would help out - rather than relying on the random factor of which
MATILDA bods turned up. A suggestion to discuss a week on Monday.

Good plan.

Also, one more thing: anyone interested in getting together to talk about an
'open source' night for budding electronic DIY-types - that'd be great. (Sadly,
not open source software-wise coz all the best stuff is still entirely
proprietary... but collaborative and ego-free...)

Gavin's right that not-for-profit ain't the same as no-money. Nothing comes for
free - that ain't nature's way. That's why we have to eat food. But we can
meet the costs in a non-profit, mutually supporting way. That's a million miles
away for working for the man, ain't it?

An occasional evening for electro-newbies like me n the gzillion others out
there who need space to inflict their experiments on people would be a good
thing, and would fit in with the ethos of the place...

Er... this is me ranting on the list about vague ideas that may never happen
again, but hey...

See ya

love

Dan
