Its good to be hedonistic, C, but I have to correct you on the point 
about the discussion what Mailda is becoming. This question was merely 
remembered because of the party and it is actually as old as the 
building has its new moles-occupants..
and it is neccesary as well because action can not go without 
reflection and self-defintion is a process of discourse as much as it 
is of deeds.
If we want to collaborate freely we need to speak to each other freely. 
Neither of us can predict the future but we shall project a future of 
Matilda and the world in general together so we need to communicate.
Maybe we should call her MATILDAR...Massive Alternative Terrain for 
Love, Direct Action and Reflection...

anyway DA will remain the main force as it always was and that is true 
for all sides of this little game, not the least the actual owners...
this is why it is important to go ahead and think about what we gonna 
tell the outside world about Matildar

some thoughts about that I'd like to feed into this process are about

contradictions

Apart from all general political questions I think we all agree that on 
a local agenda the politics of big players like YF and SHU with 
buildings, city development and people are undemocratic, of no benefit 
for the community and solely serve themselves and other big players, 
which is examplified by  the way Matilda in specific and the whole aera 
is being dealed with. These politics are not only bad, they also 
contradict their own statements and agendas...YF is fueled financially 
by the European Union and both YF and the EU have principles that are 
being violated by their actual politics. This contradiction is what we 
can exploid to some degree in our favor if we are acting strategically 
wise, but this contradiciton is by no means accidental. Liberal 
democracies (LD) are constantly producing these contradictions on all 
levels, including very personal ones, us taking planes, using cars or 
benefitting in many aspects of our daily lifes from the exploitation of 
large parts of the world. LDs promise the taming of capitalism  but as 
we can see they are not actually achieving it.
Matilda will probably expose this contradiction in becoming a place 
that despite being perfectly democratic, community based and pretty 
much everythink liberal democracies promise and talk about, will still 
be crashed at some point by the pure force of the stronger, richer, 
more powerful....and the LD will lend its monopolised power, e.g. 
courts, coppers, bayliffs to them and not to us.
Our sole-tiny chance to keep the building running is that we are 
exposing this contradiction and are confrontational towards the big 
players the hardest we can and thereby pretending to take the promise 
of LD seriously (even if many of us probably  don't). Part and Parcel 
of this is attitude: we see promises, we read their papers (merely D, D 
and some more people in the legal group have actually done that!!!) but 
we do not believe them an inch wide, unless they show us by tolerance 
and acceptance of what we as a community are doing to and in a common 
building...this is why we've been taking this building and not asking 
to get one, this is why we have banners hanging off the building 
exposing the big players...and this is why our profound critique about 
the way global, national and local politics are run are integral to 
matildas identity.  We are ferals and we bite, as our australian 
comrades would put it!
