The point isn't whether C90 are 'trying to compete' - it's whether
Matilda is *perceived* *by local club owners* as competing with them.
There's obviously a range of opinions, but it sounds like there's also
every chance of finding a good solution that lets the event go ahead
without causing major problems. I'm sure the fact that C90 have a
similar ethos to Matilda is one reason why that's possible.
TBH, if the C90 night is going to be relatively small cos of their
music being a minority taste, it's probably the bigger parties further
ahead that we need to be most careful about. As someone said last
night, it's when the club owners see queues forming out onto the
street from Matilda that they're going to call the police and want to
know why we haven't been closed down.
That's a situation we need to avoid.
