Proposal, will bring to a Monday meeting at some point but thought I'd lay
out.

Who runs your life...?
A day of discussion and activities ending with music and film

Who runs your life - who are you working for and why are you working - what
choices do you have in your life - what makes you happy, material or
social - what do your really want to do and how can you get there

Who runs your community - what sort of community do you want - building
links in neighbourhoods - where to get money or space - The power map

Who Runs Regeneration - The Power map - Lobbying councellors and media

Who runs the world - how to change the world - global or local or both - the
distribution of power and money on a national and international basis

Who runs the media - whose story does the media trust - working with,
against and outside the media

Including stuff on how to campaign for change, how to organise, publicise,
lobby, letter writing to MP's, councellors, Media on whatever subject -
possibly have some fixed spaces for activities so that people can just drop
in and write a letter to their MP or go out and subvertise or whatever...

I think it should have major strands (e.g. the regeneration stuff) so that
people can stay within something they are interested in the whole day (e.g.
regeneration, the power map, local campaigning) with real outcomes at the
end of it.

I would not see the event as focussing on particular campaigns, there could
be a space for campaigns to form/organise at the end, it would be more about
generating ideas and action on the day. There should be a focus on people
being introduced and getting to know each other. There should be a focus on
doing as well as talking. And games! Games are good. Needs to be fun,
instructive and active.

Some form of a creche would be good. A review of accessibility would be
needed.

All comments/suggestions welcome. If people think a 'who runs Sheffield'
event would provide more practical focus then I'll bow out for that, just
don't think it would have as wide appeal(?!?!:)
