Hi,
This sounds great: imaginative, non dogmatic and
definitely accessible. Imo, you may have hit on a way
to get people interested/involved, who wouldn't touch
traditional politics or even activism with a barge
pole. You may be able to get the Hallam Urban Studies
school involved through JF, or even the NUS, through
P, etc. It would take a hell of a lot of work though,
and i would suggest you would have to tackle more
'mundane' issues like welfare, housing, poverty, etc
(who benefits, who doesn't)

'Who runs your community - what sort of community do
you want - building links in neighbourhoods - where to
get money or space - The power map'

The power map is something that Impact started which i
definitely think is essential and would be
groundbreaking, it could even be laminated, blown up
and put outside Matilda for all to see!.

'Including stuff on how to campaign for change, how to
organise, publicise, lobby, letter writing to MP's,
councellors, Media on whatever subject -
possibly have some fixed spaces for activities so that
people can just drop in and write a letter to their MP
or go out and subvertise or whatever...'

great idea, information is increasingly power: to not
know your way around official structures,
communication nodes is a definitive disadvantage.

'Who runs your life - who are you working for and why
are you working - what choices do you have in your
life - what makes you happy, material or social - what
do your really want to do and how can you get there'

Imo, have to be careful here, it's doubtful, but we
may get people coming who think its about changing
your career, getting ahead in business, etc!

In relation to whether the event focussed on Sheffield
or the world, that would surely depend on comittment,
time and resources.I do think a event focussed on
Sheffield may bring in more diverse elements. but hey,

there is a building, catering, resources, go for it

but please no games, AAAAGH

regards
