I did have a job. I worked hard, damned hard, harder than you'll ever
know for 2 solid weeks in 1983 (excluding weekends of course). Then I
received a message direct from God Himself that appeared to me in the
form of a court summons. The message was in code but it was clear what
God was saying to me: "Chill out, take a break. Take yourself off
someplace nice where there are no metropolitan police and no jobs
either. The staff at Sheffield jobcentre seem friendly enough."

Unlike many I heeded God's words. Imagine if everyone took this course
of action. There'd be no M1 widening coz there'd be no one to do it.
No one to make bombs for wars. And no one to produce that enemy of all
humanity - wheat. And with no one to make laws and no one to enforce
them if there were any (which there wouldn't be anyway, obviously)
people would be free to take ketamine when and where they felt like
it.

Anyway I just hope the retirement pay is worth it - if you live that
long.
