A lot was left unresolved last night: It was the gig collective who were
duped by the community into the event on the 23rd and what i heard about
those events angered me even more:
We can laugh (i did not) at what happened then simply just move on, well no:
Following the meeting, one person asked me to stop the abuse on list i
asked them what abuse several times along with others and they declined to
reply:
How long will this wich hunt against myself, the art collective and gig
collective go what is the problem with CULTURE? for me culture such as
gigs is far more political then an event such the 23rd was:
Read "Good bye to all that"
http://society.guardian.co.uk/communities/story/0,,1688280,00.html
Mutual support and neighbourliness have declined; isolation is increasing;
mental illness is more prevalent than it was half a century ago; the signs
of day-to-day anger and tension are everywhere. Yet this unhappiness is
manifest more in depression than riots, in anxiety rather than
insurrection, in public distrust rather than the channelled energy that
makes social progress possible.
Is this not what Matilda should about? an opportunity for people to
realise their social problems and anger for myself being creative has
given myself far more oppertunities in life then i've ever had: One is
more happy at ease with life when i can find a realise and this realise
comes through ART in all forms and music which is also all art that's why
I LOVE what the gig collective are about:
Steve is very right in his comments on list and at the meeting last night
now i never thought i'd agree with Steve on politics but here i do very
much do.
What we need ask are we just creating some WHITE MIDDLE CLASS GHETO? it
angerd myself to see the gig collective scape goted for the fuck up of the
23rd and events following:
The gig collective are not the people who have pulled the negative into
Matilda it has been the parties and such events i stopped promoting and
putting on parties in 1998 where i watched people takeing smack to come
down:
Last year i placed into the ground a close friend who had been involved in
the free party scene and was nothing more than a drug mule, a laugh for
those providing him with those drugs - where is their social
resaponsibilty?
Such people have done and we have seen this from the events on the 23rd
and following:
Just to end last nights meeting left me angry, very angry that again the
art and gig collective was attacked by those who are so fucking scared of
culture are we going back towards Stalin's Russia or creating something
for the future and the rest of the world?
