Event which aims to facilitate dialogue and strengthen links between
women in refugee communities and the police.

The event will be an opportunity to:

Raise awareness within refugee community organisations in order to help
them to deliver an enhanced service to women in the community 

Raise awareness among Metropolitan Police staff of the specific issues,
concerns, barriers and capabilities of refugee and asylum seeking women 

Identify gaps in current service delivery both by community
organisations and the Metropolitan Police, and explore possible
solutions 

Give a voice and listen to refugee and asylum seeking women about their
concerns regarding community safety, domestic violence, honour crime 

Inform refugee women about Metropolitan Police plans and approaches to
working with them on gender issues 

Representatives are being invited from refugee community organisations
that provide services to women, the Metropolitan Police Service, and
other voluntary sector organisations.
