[pagan-magik] PMA closure?

Some further thoughts just occured to me regarding the current situation.

Jocelyn questioned our standing policy, which I might add has never been ratified, of only allowing new members to the group if a current member of the group knows them.

I would question the effectivness of such an operation. Especially as we seem more than willing to admit persons to the group who come to our public events such as the ESF and Anarchist Book Fair.

If the logic (?) behind this is to prevent Government Agents infiltrating our group then I would say we have failed. Any Government Agency involved in monitering groups such as ours would have agents deep undercover. They would be students, activists, anarchists. we would meet them at the many events we attend and accept them based solely upon the glamour they project.

With this in mind restricting List access is futile and self defeating.

We are as such missing out on the opportunity to recruit new members who are genuinely interested in becoming part of the group or simply learning more about what we do. We are NOT restricting access to those agencies that would moniter us. They already have access. They already have members on list. The police presence at our action at The Temple of Mithras during the Alternative ESF is prove enough of this.

To think otherwise is niave.

As such I would suggest we allow any and all who are interested in joining the e-group to do so. We could create a simply questioner asking them why they want to join and what they have to offer, etc. This would give them an opportunity to tell us a bit about them and connect with the group. Introduce themselves.

With this in mind I would ask that a simple 'Questioner' be created and sent out to all those who have asked to join the group and not been accepted to date.
Nina you possibly have a list I believe.

To overcome the problem of outside agencies having details of our actual operations we simply need create a Cell Structure for our more radical actions. These Cells would operate autonomously, yet be connected to other cells (As and when they choose) and the group as a whole, while operating autonomously.
The group would then become a tool for the organisation of large actions, dissemination of infromation, etc.
Within these larger actions the individual cells would carry out secret ops.

2005 is a New Year, let us enter this year with purposeful intent and take action.

Love and Power

David

I'm not even going to buy into these intra-group politics. In my humble opinion anything that gets in the way of our working together as an effective group is just so much fucking bullshit.
Those Government Agencies that are monitering our group must be falling over themselves laughing at our continual bickering and have probably written us off as yet another group of like minded individuals with a common goal who have allowed personalities to come before principles.

I'm certainly not pointing the finger at anyone here. Just asking each and every one of us to honestly search our conscience and ask ourselves if each and very one of us, individualy and collectively, are doing everything we can to make this group work and become an effective tool of activism.
Some of you may cringe at the word Conscience. Especially as it carries with it a lot of baggage and has been allied to all that Sin/Guilt/Shame bullshit. By conscience I mean the that little voice that tells you that what is going down in the world just ain't fucking right and don't sit comfortable with ya.

To further our groups efficacy I would like to suggest a solution.

I have recently been in communication with Jocelyn, following her original suggestion that we have regular meetings of the PMA.
It was suggested in these communications that the PMA meet on a monthly basis. The day suggested was the last monday of each month at the Royal Festival Hall, South Bank, London.
Times and details of this meeting will be posted nearer the time if there are no objections to having a regular meeting as suggested.

Other enclaves in different parts of the country, and elsewhere, could hold similar meetings. It is for those living in those areas to organise these.

The intent of having regular meetings is to give members of the group an opportunity to get to know each other personally, to socialise and network/brainstorm.

The G8 is approaching. We need to organise now and built an working group that is able to take effective action.

In service,

David
