Ok. I am willing to assist in this process, which is the least I can do as I suggested it in the first place.
I also have many other commitments and am not always able to check my e-mail on a daily basis. However i do check it quite often and as such would be able to share the load in this context.
 
That is if no one has any objections.
 
Practicalities - There needs to be some means by which those sharing this responsibilty are able to know which pending members have been sent the questioner so that the operation isn't duplicated.
I do not know whether the site would reveal these details.
if not then they will need to cc the other administrators when replying to those seeking admission to list so that all are up to speed as to the current status of this process.
 
The questioner, with Steve's addition, would look like this:

What can you add to the group?

Where did you here about the group?

The answers you give will be assessed and your application considered.

This e group is a loose affiliation of groups and individuals with an interest in political activism from a pagan-magickal perspective. 
 
 
Procedure:
Persons seeking admission to list would in the first instance be sent the above questioner. 
Their response would then be posted to the group.
If there are no objections within seven days of posting the applicants response then they would be automatically admitted to the list.

so again, anybody who wants to be administrator (and will be 
automatically notified every time someone wants to subscribe) can just 
contact me, i'll then pass on the password off-list, you just have to 
log on to the admin pages and ENTER YOUR EMAIL address in the field for 
administrators... it is pretty straightforward you will see.
