hi emily, thats cool, while i was putting it together i had the same
question pop to mind. i wrote it to fit in with what was discussed at the
meeting last week and also the minutes of the meeting that jon sent to
this email list regarding this statement was as follows:
"The political importance of childcare
Were concerned about the lack of enthusiasm around providing stuff for
kids and their carers.
Action point: Gemma to write a short statement based mainly on stuff from
the Raising Some Hell zine about not leaving your friends behind and the
whole community taking responsibility for childcare. Gemma will send it
round to the list for a quick group edit before it is finalised. This
statement will be read out at the next climate camp gathering, by either
Anna Davies or Annelle."
so this is what i was trying to do.
i didnt think it was a statement particularly about what we were gonna do
at the kidspace, more of a sttatemnet about what this group stands for and
does. i think its important that this is know, and people dont just assume
we are just there to provide childcare at anyones radical events.
having said that, maybe i could write a little bit extra specifically
relating to exactly what the radical childcare collective is proposing to
take on at the cc, althou to be honest, i know we willl be 'running'it,
and anyone can do workshops, but it just simply means to me that we will
be manning the tent for the week basically and overseeing it all....
hope this helps, and hope im right in thniking this is whats it all about!!
