hey everyone,
when jon sent the email about the campaign against immigration gathering i remembered puppet play (an adaptation of three billy goats gruff) a friend from norway mentioned, where goats are the migrants and troll the immigration control and asked him if he can send me a script of some sort to see if we can use it on saturday
he sent the story only half an hour ago... so not much time to get ready for it properly, but i still think its worthwhile doing it, so what if we try to form a kids collective who can work on it and maybe interested adults, and stage it at another gathering, if you are up for it maybe whoever is gonna be there spread the word on saturday, maybe put a notice up ext
maybe the project can evolve into forming a group meeting up regularly to discuss related topics and make stuff and then stage it
just realized if it sounds too much of a project to advertise on saturday and ppl would like to talk about it more in detail before going for it thats totally fine coz i only though about it as im writing now
here is the summery from my friends email:
ok,
so, hitler tells the story, and says that the first forigner smells like "tea and biscuits"
the
troll asks "who is stepping on my bridge", and after the response from
the english goat says "the scent is known and the color is dear, come
in to my country and make your living here"
so the same also happens to the dutch goat which hitler says smells like "green grass"
then
the pakistani goat comes which hitler says smells like kebab. the goat
asks to cross the border but the troll thinks "this smells like kebab
& curry, I only want [insert norwegian traditional dishes/stuff
here]"
then they fight and it ends with the pakistani goat lifting his
wool to reveal that he's strapped with dynamite, and he blows himself
and the troll to pieces -emel here well im not sure about blowing the poor goat, maybe the bridge and the troll :)-so that his family busload of goats can get
over the bridge.

Hi everyone,
I got the following email today from a guy at LARC so it looks pretty positive in terms of getting a toybox there and using some space (probably in the basement) to store creche stuff.
Next creche is 20th June at SOAS for the Campaign Against Immigration Controls gathering. I'll be organising it and any volunteers would be gratefully received! Maybe we could use it as a chance to start to develop some activities for kids that relate to our radical politics - any ideas on immigration related games or activities???
Take care
Jon
Hi Jon,
That sounds like a great idea. I'll just run it part the email list and
get back to you.
Cheers,
Mark
