The
Great Climate Swoop - we are SWOOPING!! Join us for The Great Climate Swoop,
17th and 18th October

 

The Swoop has been called to take action
against coal – the key culprit of climate change. It has been called by
Climate Camp and other Direct Action groups at the coal-fired power station at
Ratcliffe-on-Soar near Nottingham. See here. Hundreds
of activists and campaigners from all over the UK will converge on the power
station at 1pm on Saturday 17th October.

 

Campaign against Climate Change will be
joining the FOOTSTEPS TO THE FUTURE
bloc. This is a Direct Action demonstration that is not organised with the police
so please note we cannot guarantee what the atmosphere of the demonstration
will be like, or how things may turn out on the day. The mission of the bloc,
though, will be to present our
positive vision of a fossil-fuel-free future outside the power station gates.
Those keen to do so may stay for the night outside the Power station, but you
can also come just for the day. Efficient and renewable, this bloc will be a
space to show the solutions - from bike powered sound systems to solar showers,
come, conceive and create!

 

The Footsteps to the Future bloc will
meet at Nottingham train station at 10am on
the morning of Saturday 17th October to then go as one to the power station.
