>> Hi Everyone,
>>
>> Hope everyone is beginning to recover from the Camp! I'm really pleased
>> with how it went, with only a few small niggles which would be good to
>> discuss at our next meeting with a de-brief of how everybody felt the
>> camp
>> kidspace went. Does anyone want to suggest a good date and time that it
>> would be good for everyone meet? I am very flexible, so i'll leave it
>> open to suggestions. We need to be thinking about finding a regular
>> indoor meeting space I think, as the weather is definitely turning!
>>
>> Secondly, I've been asked to provide some childcare at the LCAP (London
>> Coaltion Against Poverty) Annual General Meeting on 12th September
>> between
>> 12-4pm. I have said I will do it, does anyone fancy joining me? or know
>> of anyone who would want to help, even for some of it if you cant make
>> it
>> all. I was going to grab some of the Climate Camp Tat which should now
>> be
>> back at LARC if that is ok with everyone?
>>
>> Lastly, I was approached at the camp by a guy called Richard Howlet who
>> is involved in organising the Great Climate Swoop happening on the 18th
>> October.  He has just emailed me, and it is as follows;
>>
>> Hi Anna,
>> We spoke about kids at the Great Climate Swoop whilst at the camp over
>> the
>> last few days. Hope you remember me.
>> I
>> just thought i'd drop you an email to see if you'd be up for joining
>> the Great Climate Swoop e-list. What do you think? It would be great to
>> have someone who is really aware of the needs of parents and children
>> within the group.
>> There is also an organising
>> meeting in Nottingham at the Sumac centre on Sat 12th Sept. Creche
>> facilities are planned as another parent - Emily James - will be
>> coming. Would you or another person from kidspace be able to make it?
>> Just
>> so you know there was a fair bit of talk about the need for a legal
>> march and the possibility of some kind of fixed site at the working
>> group rep meeting yesterday.
>> Cheers!
>> Richard
>>
>>
>> When I spoke to richard at the camp I said i would feed into the group
>> and
>> see what everyones thoughts were. However I did express my own personal
>> concerns to him at the time. These were 1. As a group we are aware and
>> concerned that a 'Kids block' leading a march is something which has had
>> many problems in the past and carries many media based connotations.
>> and
>> 2. The target of the swoop is in Nottingham and is probably going to
>> span
>> 2 days, so some fixed infrastructure would be quite important for a kids
>> prescence.
>>
>> Anyways, firstly he is asking if i want to be added to the organising
>> mailing list as a 'voice for kids and parents'. I am happy to do this,
>> however I would feel more comfortable if we put the group address
>> forward
>> (Gemma, you mentioned we have one right?) and also I am not a parent.
>>
>> Secondly he has invited (us) to the organising meeting in Nottingham on
>> the 12th September. As I've said above i've already committed to the
>> LCAP
>> childcare, but would anyone else fancy going?
>>
>> I think that's it for now, sorry for such a looooong email,
>>
>> See you all soon
