[Reallyopenuni] Less than two weeks to go! Important email- please read!

[Really OpenUni]

Hi again,

Sorry for the second email in three days, but we only* *have *one week and
six days *until ‘Reimaging the University’ (it’s Wednesday 24th – Friday 26
th). Some stuff may be repeated in this email however it’s really important
everyone who is helping planning an event read this email.

***Mondays meeting*

The next planning meeting will be *Monday 6-8 upstairs in the
Packhorse Pub*near the University. At least one person from each
activity group (the
individual groups putting on an event) should to come to the meeting so we
all know where we collectively are at. Each group needs to discuss and
answer to the following questions to feed back at the meeting:

-       What is your event? (in a paragraph)

-       What kind of space are you going to have it in? (seminar
room/lecture theater/open space/other, occupied/booked - if a booked room we
suggest you book it ASAP)

-       What day are you thinking of having it on? (Wed/Thurs/Fri)

-       Is there anything you need to put on your event that the rest of the
group can help you with?

If no one from your group can make it please send an email with answers to
these questions to info at reallyopenuniversity.org. If you weren’t at the last
meeting or are not in an activity group you are still welcome to Monday’s
meeting. Remember this really is not far off so we all probably have a lot
of stuff you need to talk about in our groups.

***Call-outs*
*Publicity *

For this to be powerful we really need to get lots of people along. So we
really need people to get on publicising this. The most powerful form of
publicity is talking to people so if everyone can tell your friends,
co-workers and class mates about it that would be wicked. However we also
need to do some central publicity (programme of events, flyers, posters,
stunts, etc.). If anyone wants to join the publicity working group and help
make this happen send an email to ehouk1 at gmail.com

*Funding*

The Really Open University is a bit broke, we have debts with our printers
and some people have paid a fair bit out of pocket to keep the ROU going. If
anyone knows of any neat sources of funding, would like to hold a fundraiser
or has any ideas for how we can raise some cash drop an email to
info at reallyopenuniversity.org

At the moment the Really Open University’s website (
www.reallyopenuniversity.org) is just a wordpress blog. It would be great if
we could build a snazzier site. If you have any skills in this area and are
happy to help out give us a shout: info at reallyopenuniversity.org
