At the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County we recently conducted a survey of composting habits.  While we haven't sorted through all the data yet, our early numbers show that over half of our population composts regularly!

Have you already composted a bit, but want to learn more? Are you new to composting but want to jump in with enthusiasm to do right?  Are you already a composting whiz and want to deepen your knowledge and become more of a resource for your neighborhood or community garden?  Become a Master Composter!

Ten in-depth classes paired with hands-on internship hours train Master Composters, an enthusiastic and fun group of community volunteers committed to promoting responsible composting.

Classes are Wednesday evenings from February 13th to May 1st. Application deadline is Monday, January 28th.
