Bloom is happy to provide a series of ongoing classes and special events
this spring in their store on the Commons. Classes are appropriate for a
variety of ages and groups. Babies, toddlers, homeschoolers - everyone is
welcome!

availability in all classes and our play space is open for play anytime
during business hours! We hope to see you where budding minds go to play!

*Babysitting at Bloom*
Allow another mama to care for your child! Bloom is happy to offer a weekly
babysitting service provided by a local mother with her own toddler. Your
child will be with a loving caregiver and fun playmate while you have a
lunch date, run errands, or just enjoy a walk by yourself! Drop-in or
preregister.
*Cost: $10 per child per hour, siblings half price*
*Dates/Times: Every Friday, 12:00-2:00pm*

*Date Night*
Enjoy a night out on the town while your kids have a party at Bloom! We
will take care of your children and provide games, a movie, pizza, and
everything that our play place has to offer. You can have a date or just
relax at home on a Saturday night. Stay tuned for special coupons for local
restaurants and entertainment! Space is limited. Preregistration required.

*Let's Learn Spanish!*
Bolivian native and a resident of Spain, Graciela Franco Mercado will use
her lifetime of experience to teach Spanish through play and music.
Learning a new language will help your children be comfortable meeting new
Spanish friends and traveling to South America or Spain someday! El español
es una lengua muy bonita!!!! Vamos a aprender español!!!! (Spanish is a
beautiful language! Let's learn some spanish!!!!)

*Mindful Birthing*
Nancy Koschmann leads this childbirth preparation course that teaches
mindfulness-based techniques to ameliorate the discomfort, fear, and
natural stresses of parenting.  You will learn about labor and delivery,
but you also all sorts of ways to be an especially joyful and effective
parent, able to be truly present for the physical, cognitive, and emotional
needs of your baby.

*Parent & Child Yoga*
Toddlers, preschoolers and kindergarteners learn to enjoy basic yoga
movements together with parents and peers, especially through songs and
stories. Class is based in fun and moves with the pace of the children.
Class provides a structure for parents and children to play and explore
body movement as individuals or together, with stretch and benefit for
both. Class offers skills for relaxation and management of emotions, poses
for strength and flexibility and meditations for confidence and
connectedness. Perfect for 18 month olds - 6 year-olds with
caregiver. Taught by Diane Hamilton of OmChild Yoga, RYT 200/Radiant Child.

*Dates/Times: Fridays, February 21-April 4, 11:00am-12:00pm (no class March
14)*

*Parenting with Mindfulness*
Parents and children are invited to attend with Nancy Koschmann. We'll talk
about the importance of parents attuning to their children's emotional
states, fun things to do to increase memory skills, how children learn
language, why most cartoons don't help, how the baby brain works with
words, sounds, and signs, and why. We'll also loosen up a bit, do a little
deep breathing, plant some seeds of happiness and calm, and learn some
basic chi gong exercises for relaxation and health.
*Cost: $5 per child*
*Dates/Times: Wednesdays, February 12-March 26, 10:00-11:00am (no class
February 26)*

*Family Yoga*
In this class, the whole family with children of all ages come together for
yoga storytelling, games, group and partner poses, mindfulness practices,
and a lot of fun. Each child welcome to participate in his or her own way.
Little Buddhas Yoga instructor Courtney Schroeder will lead the class.
*Cost: $15 per family*
*Dates/Times: Saturdays, February 22-March 15, 10:15-11:00am (more dates
might be added)*

*Yoga Storytime*
Courtney Schroeder from Little Buddhas Yoga brings storytime to the yoga
mat. With props and sometimes storybooks, but mostly with our own bodies,
we'll act out, engage, and enjoy stories from many cultures and traditions.
*Cost: $5 per family (FREE if you attend Family Yoga)*
*Dates/Times: Saturdays, February 15-March 8, 11:00-11:30am (more dates
might be added)*

*Make a Monster or Fashion a Fairy*
Maija Cantori will lead this class using air-dry clay to fashion a monster
or fairy onto a pipe-cleaner figure or other base.
*Cost: $15 per child*
*Date/Time: Saturday, March 8, 2:00-4:00pm*

*Stencil a T-Shirt*
Bring a t-shirt that is plain and flat (lighter colors work better) and
Jack will help your child create a screenprint of his or her very own
design! Hear the pride and delight in their voices when they get to say "I
made that!" Jack Sears is an artist and writer. Space is limited.
Preregistration required.

*Date/Time: Saturday, March 15, 11:30am-1:00pm*

*Spring Mobiles*
Create a spring-inspired mobile from clay (sun, flower, cloud, rainbow,
raindrop). I will prep the mobile frames. This workshop will be led by
local mother Maija Cantori.
*Cost: $15 per child*
*Date/Time: Saturday, March 22, 11:00am-1:00pm*

*Storytelling Workshop*
Come hear fables, folktales, and myths this local dad originally wrote as
bedtime stories for his daughter. He'll spin yarns about rabbits stealing
color from the Sun, the first giraffe, and more! After the stories, Jack
will help your children build some silly animal creations and imagine
stories of their very own. Jack Sears is an artist, writer, and Masters
student of education at SUNY Cortland.
*Cost: $15 per child*
*Date/Time: Saturday, April 12, 11:30am-12:30pm*

*Drawing Dinosaurs*
Learn to draw dinosaurs using simple shapes and create your own storybook
to take home! This workshop will be led by local mother and artist Maija
Cantori.
