> GOT LEAVES?  GET COMPOST! Instead of paying for leaf pickup, bring your CLEAN bagged residential leaves (no branches, yard waste, poison ivy or black walnut leaves) to CCE-Tompkins during the drop-off period from Monday 11/6 to Saturday 11/18. Gardeners and composters may come between 10:00am and 1:00pm on Saturday 11/18 to take leaves to mulch beds and to use as "browns" for your compost piles. Households may also take up to 5 gallons of FREE screened compost (bring your own container). Be advised that donated leaves or CCE compost may contain Asian invasive worms, commonly called ‘crazy’ worms. Master Composters will be there to explain how to use leaves over the winter for better compost, and Master Gardeners will share information about the invasive worm. Questions?
