[SSC] Introduction

Thanks for the welcome David - I meant to add (in case you are interested to
know where people are hearing about you) that I found out about the SSC via
the Sociological Imagination blog (post
here<http://sociologicalimagination.org/posts/markcarriganauthor/the-social-science-centre/>
).

Thanks too for the info about projects in London: I'll definitely follow
those up and see if I can get actively involved in an SSC-type project. I
have vague thoughts about starting up a women's studies programme on
co-operative lines, but need to gain some knowledge and experience of what
is involved in this kind of venture first.

On a personal note, I had planned to take up a place on an MA programme at
Royal Holloway in the autumn, but I'm deferring this for at least a year.
Frankly, I would much prefer to continue my studies under the auspices of
the SSC (or something similar). What you are doing is exciting and inspiring
and I look forward to supporting the SSC in whatever ways I can.
