Dear All,
In relation to the subject area for this week's session of the Social Science Imagination group, my recollection of what we agreed to do is:
Suggest a reading on identity, providing a short written abstract as to why we think piece of writing is important/interesting/relevant Write a few sentences on identity in relation to the work that we are producing individually and collectively
I am going to be suggesting a book edited by John Holloway, Fendando Matamoros and Sergio Tischler, published by Pluto Press in 2009. The title of the book is 'Negativity and Revolution: Adorno and Political Activism':http://www.amazon.co.uk/Negativity-Revolution-Adorno-Political-Activism/dp/0745328369
I am particularly interested in the relationship between what John Holloway and his colleagues describe, after Adorno, as identity and non-identity.
See you on Thursday.
Best wishes,
Mike
